Abstract

One of the noteworthy grammatical issues dealt with in grammarians books and books on grammatical parsing is the convergence and divergence or the discrepancy  between semantic meaning and grammatical parsing, which is manifested  through the grammarians judgment with regard to resolving syntactic analyses of texts from the Holy Quran and Arabic language to the effect that a given case is either explication of meaning, not parsing, or the opposite,  and disputing the analysis.

The confusion between both explications led to the ambiguity of many grammatical views, and distortion of what they originally were.

This research attempts to shed some light on determining where both explications  were  mixed up in grammatical application, finding out the reasons, clarifying the evidence  which supports one of the two explications, and indicating the implications of this issue.

This research is based on collecting syntactic analyses of the Holy Quran verses which were classified as an explication of either meaning, or parsing, and studying them using the analytical approach applied on 48 issues sorted by subjects.
