Abstract

The research is a study of a phrase repeated by Imam al-Bukhari in different biography in his book “Attareek Alkabeer”، which is “Munqati'a”. The study relied on collecting these biographies (259 biographies) and then studying them as a comparative analytical study to arrive at the critical purpose of the Imam. The researcher concluded that Bukhari means on this word “Munqati'a” categorizes the biographies، which means: a biography whose owner has no hadith of a chain of transmission (i.e. a related hadith raised to the Prophet PBUH)، and therefore he usually releases it in biographies that do not have their owners from hadith to hadiths Waqf or Mursal، and in other books than “Attareek Alkabeer”; Al-Bukhari applies the term “Munqati'a” to specific narrations، so once he means to deny the chain of transmission of the chain of transmission، and sometimes he means that in the chain of transmission there is an ambiguous man، and another time he means that the narration is “Mawqufah” which means it’s not related to Prophet Mohammed PBUH.
