Logic - The Four Ratios - General and Private - Grammar and its Influence on Logic

Abstract

The relationship between logic and grammatical studies has been strengthened in many aspects in grammatical literature, indicating the clear impact of logic in linguistic studies that took place in the fourth century, particularly in reasoning and analogical deduction.  Greatly affecting the terminology, logical explanations, and arrangement of grammatical topics.

Among the manifestations of grammar being affected by logic are the four ratios, including the ratio of generality and aspect specificity. This study included two chapters:

Chapter one: rooting this ratio from the theoretical point of view and the relationship to issues of negation and affirmation and the places where it is mentioned in grammar books, and the contradiction between this ratio and the ratio of generality and absolute specificity.

Chapter two: the applied aspect of this ratio in the grammatical lesson. This ratio was mentioned in the two terminologies; however, most of it was in the rulings.
