Critical Mediations with book’s Edition Nufooth al-Sahm fima Waqa’a li al-Jawhari mn al-Wahm (The permeation of the Arrow into al-Jawhary’s Misconceptions) by al-Safadi

Abstract

The research aims at detecting the edited mistakes committed by the book’s editor and comparing them with the two manuscript copies; to ensure the integrity of the text.

The research has two chapters: The first chapter is about methodological notes on describing the two copies and the edition methodology; Such as: ignoring the indication to the defective arrangement of topics, and the divergence of approach in dealing with the whiteness of the manuscript, the mistake in writing the headings of the topics and in reading some of them, and lack of supporting of the text as lack of pointing of many pointed words, and confusion in punctuation marks related to the integrity of the text.

The second chapter was about stumbles in reading the text, either by a mistake, decrease, or increase in it, and devoted discussion about the morphological mistakes and poetic evidence’ mistakes for their importance.

The chapter also touched upon other errors, such as the misconception of the difference between the two copies, and problems in the manuscript not edited by the editor, and typographical errors.
