Abstract

This research attempts to make an analytical study on the patterns of Textual breadth in Abu Nawas’s poetry, aiming to explore aspects of renovation in his poetry and its link to the poetic heritage that he studied and went beyond, with an attempt to identify the methods of renovation and the approaches that he adopted in dealing with this heritage, whereby he managed to enrich the Arabic poetry with his outstanding poems, and the effect of all this on his poetic craftsmanship.

The study concluded that the most prominent methods of textual cohesion adopted by Abu Nawwas are the method of intensive simulation of the texts of his predecessors, and the method of contradicting the aesthetic and artistic values of Arabic poetry. In Addition, Abu Nawwas used the method of textual transfer, so he proceeded to the texts of his predecessors and worked to transfer them from their original contexts to different contexts in which his artistic and aesthetic function changed.
