Abstract

In modern times, the prevalence of academic discourse is undeniable. Usually found in universities, given that they take over functions of scientific research and specialized higher education, academic discourse has definitive characteristics due to the research methodologies used to generate it.  Scholars of the academic community adopt this form of discourse and demand those adopting the same to use the right tools to generate it.

A purely scientific discourse adopted by an academic can be infused with and influenced by his literary and poetic creativity. Examining this type of hybrid discourse can be done through pragmatic analysis. Pragmatics allows us to discover the type of discourse used by the literary-academic, its context, as well as to explore the use of linguistic signs and their multiple interpretations and significations.
