Abstract

The term Protection was not common in the uses of scholars with this word; rather it was hinted to it from their words. It means correcting the letter when it is exposed to be turned by preventing the cause that results in converting it, and the intended letter in this topic is the Yaa as it was the most common letter that was prevented to be turned.

This research is concerned with uncovering the aspects of this topic; setting the details dispersed by the scholars on it. They presented and conveyed in the folds of their texts.

I began it with an introduction, then a preface in which a quick presentation of converting letters, positions of turning the Yaa. The meaning of protecting it from conversion, followed by three discussions: the first included manifestations of protection the second on its motives, and the third on its methods, then concluded and put in it the most important results I have come to.
