Abstract

This research deals with the investigation and study of the book “Mukhtasar Al-Nahw” by Abi Al-Hasan Al-Dhariri

who died around 420 AH.

The research came in two sections. In the first section, I made a revealing translation of Al-Dariri. Then, I briefly studied the investigated book; I showed its material, its general classification approach, Al-Dariri’s singularities, and the general controls in the book. In the second section, which is the investigation, I spoke in its introduction about the investigation of the title of the book, documenting its attribution to Al-Dariri, describing the written copies. Then, I showed the approach that I followed in the investigation. I also attached samples of the copies approved in the investigation. Next, the text that was investigated according to the rules of investigation and its scientific foundations.

This book has many scattered copies around the world, and by the grace of God, I got seventeen complete and sound copies of them. This brief included most of the chapters on grammar, some grammatical tools, and some morphological chapters; in a wonderful and unprecedented order. Above all, it came in an easy style that was free from affectation and grammatical differences. That makes it suitable for teaching beginners and researchers.
