Description of linguistic Sounds in Almuejam Alwasit

Abstract

This study comes in a descriptive and analytical framework to describe the sounds of the Arabic language in The Alwseet Dictionary issued by the Arabic Language Complex in Cairo. It shows the approach of this description in the places of articulation and their features by showing how the lexicographer deals with the phonetic term in ancient and modern.

The study also aims to show the defect in some aspects of the description, and the disorder in the methodology, by presenting the appropriate suggestions through which it is possible to avoid the lack of description and the imbalance of the method.
