Ismail Al-Qadi’s Comments on Sibawayh’s Book: Study and Balancing

Abstract

This research, tagged with (Ismail Al-Qadi’s Comments on Sibawayh’s Book: Study and Balancing), aims to reveal Ismail Al-Qadi’s effort in commenting on Sibawayh’s book and explaining them; and clarifying the status of his comments by balancing them with what the book’s commentators have mentioned.

This research included an introduction, two topics, and a conclusion. The research paradigm addressed two issues. One of them is a biography of Ismail Al-Qadi, and the other is for clarifying his position in linguistic research. As for the first topic, I dedicated it to the methodical study of Al-Qadi's found comments. It showed their sources, fields, features, and what Ismail Al-Qadi was characterized in those comments. As for the second topic, it was for the study of his texts, and comments, and balancing them with what the book’s commentators mentioned. The studied texts amounted to forty-eight texts that put them in forty-two positions.

Then comes the research's conclusion, which includes the most notable findings.
