Nowadays, there is a requirement for studying classical Arabic literature as one of the interdisciplinary studies, especially the ones that are relevant to classical Arabic literature and constitute an essential part of it at the same time. Drama is based on events, characters, conflict, and so on, which is handled by the narrative analysis in the first place. Therefore, a comparative approach that considers both the literary and the dramatic opens the work to new significations. Thus, this study investigates the ten Maqamat (Assemblies) of Abdur-Rahmeem Al-Abbasi according to Aristotle’s perspective and theories of Drama, in order to reveal the narratological dimensions of the Maqamat (Assemblies) dramatic structure. This study seeks to establish new research on the nature “Maqamat"(Assemblies) by conducting a dramatic analysis and recognizing that research on this genre has reached a level of stagnancy. This study attempts to offer a new lens whereby unpacking the dramatic structure in al-Maqamat (Assemblies) shows their various forms as well as the different levels of dramaticity inherent within this particular genre.
