Abstract

This paper aims at collecting and studying the vocabulary related to palm trees in Bisha. The vocabulary will be studies linguistically, semantically, and socially, using the descriptive-analytical approach. The paper preserves some vocabulary, monitors its development, and links it to its origins. In Ch. 1, the vocabularies were listed and divided into six sections: types, parts, descriptions, dependents and tools, diseases and defects, and work functions related to palm trees. The pronunciation has been described accurately, and the meaning has been traced.  They were distinguished as new and old vocabulary either in form or meaning. The next chapter describes the linguistic, dialectal, phonetic, morphological, and grammatical phenomena such as starting with the consonant, vowelization transfer, substitution, sub-characters, and vowelization subordination. The conclusion presented the results: the vocabularies are related to the Najd dialect; gradual extinction of some dialectic phenomena; absence in the present generation; the accuracy of jurisprudence books; language prefers ease and facilitation in transmission; and the emergence of a new type of inclination. The paper concludes that there is an originality in most of the palm trees' vocabulary and their dialectical uses in Bisha.
