Abstract

This research addresses a significant rhetorical type called “Distribution”. It means the correlation between a hypernym that includes other hyponyms to another hypernym, distributing one of its hyponyms to the other [i.e. Hyponymy Relation]. Juris consults and interpreters were the most scholars who employed this use to serve their cases. Fundamentalists made such distribution a base on which the rules are built, while the interpreters use it as an indispensable rule. In the time when rhetoric scholars did not pay attention to the distribution, although it is distinct with its structural richness and extended impact on the context of its prosimetric texts, and distinct rhythmic imprint, such rhetoric terms, and entailed meanings denote similar indications.

The significance of such a rhetorical type lies in its correlation with essential meanings from the Holy Qur’an, which focused on the jurisprudential cases, mentioning Paradise, Hell, preaching, intimidation, and other five necessities. The rhetorical significance of the distribution is represented in being eloquent in rhythm and speech as it achieves the concise purpose, which is considered one of the Qur'anic expression secrets of this type. Therefore, when the naming of terms was difficult and using their synonyms was considered pleonasm. This concise style in the phrase has been used, indicating the intended meaning. In addition, the reliance on the presumptions and evoking their types were the way for the excellence among the distribution types and signs of such types.

To clarify all the foregoing: this research consists of a preface; four chapters addressing its definition, significance, presumptions, and forms followed by the Qur'anic rhythm to express the same as per its meaning purposes to be shown with the most eloquent and the richest methods. In addition, the research in the final chapter revealed the rhetoric of this type and the secrets of using it for expression in the Holy Qur’an.
