The study of unspecified items in the Holy Quran is a distinctive field of knowledge that has received considerable attention from Islamic scholars and interpreters. Unspecified spatial items are mentioned in various contexts in the Holy Quran, particularly in the narratives of the Prophets and ancient nations.
This research examines the rhetorical aspects of unspecified spatial items in the Quranic narratives of the Prophets and ancient nations, specifically from Surah Al-Baqarah to Surah Yusuf, and explores the benefits from their unspecified nature. It presents the evidence, elucidates their meanings, discusses their important rhetorical phenomena, and extracts the secrets, benefits, and rhetorical purposes. It also explores significant rhetorical techniques in the Quranic narratives to emphasize meanings and ideas, contributing to contemplation and reflection on the Quran's miraculous nature.
This study consists of an introduction and two sections. The introduction provides an overview of unspecified items, including their types, notable figures in the field, causes of unspecificity, and the significance of Quranic narrative and its purposes. The first section focuses on studying the evidence of these items in the narratives of the Prophets. The second section examines the evidence of these items in the narratives of ancient nations.
