Abstract

 

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the most honorable of the prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions.

The quality of poetry and its high rank can only be attained by its high meanings, mastery in selecting them, and materializing the intentions behind them, as poetic meanings have great influence on Hazem Al-Qartajani. Moreover, he had its unique approach, which concerned him with the word before its birth, therefore he had concerned with explaining the ways to express it and be proficient in rendering it materialized. He created a chapter on being proficient in deriving it, in which he intended to explain the means leading to proficiency in deriving meanings and codified specific rules and principles for it, and expressed the degrees of this proficiency in clear and precise terms, then he intended to apply what he saw and theorized to his criticism of the evidence he presented. Hence this study entitled: “Proficient means of deriving poetic meanings according to Hazem Al-Qartajani – Vision and Application” to explain these means and focus on explaining Hazem’s comprehensive view and the principles that he established to derive meanings. Hence, this necessitates that the research adopts the descriptive and analytical method, and it consists of an introduction and preface, and four subjects; First: Knowledge of poetry-recitation purposes, Second: Knowledge of how meanings are related to each other, Third: Proper disposition of intellectual meanings, Fourth: Knowledge of improving and criticizing tools of the poetry and the conclusion includes the key findings and recommendations, including Al-Qartajani rules regarding the methods leading to subtle meanings agree with the words of his predecessors, paying attention to rhetoric in order to adjust the statement to its intellectual meanings and Al-Qurtajani’s proposal was distinguished by its attention to universals in establishing the rules and principles of meanings, matching its rules to the rulings and selections stated in the poetic evidence he mentioned and cited, and other findings proven in the conclusion of research.
