Rotation of "al zehaf" between "al sababain al khafefain"

A Prosodic Phonetic Investigation

Abstract

This research paper opens with an introduction and moves to tackle four subtopics. The introduction presents the research problem and rationale of studying the rotation of Al zahaf, its significance, a review of previous works, and the current approach to the study of prosodic aspects.

The first subtopic examines permitted rotation of the two light causes (alsababayn alkhafifayn) in Arabic poetic prosody and identifies four possibilities to their juxtaposition. 

The second and third subtopics shed light on the restrictions on the rotation of two neighboring light causes in one or between two metric units, noting the decrease of their number in juxtaposition to three possibilities.

The fourth subtitle examines obligatory rotation of movement (alzehaf) between the light causes (alsababayn alkhafifayn", noting the decrease of the number of neighboring metric units to two possibilities.

Finally, the conclusion reports the main findings of the study and some recommendations for further study.
