Ibn Asbagh: his Biography and his Book on Grammatical Controversy

Abstract

Ibrahim bin Asbagh wrote a book on the grammatical controversy.

The book has highly distinguished among all other books about the grammatical controversy in its method and issues and deals with the main controversial issues to delimit and facilitate them for those concerned. The book was not meant for inferring, justify, or representing. T The book comprised some aspects of such controversies about principles, rules, and their branches that no other book raised. The book did not reach us the way it was written by its author. Abu Hayyan has emphasized many issues in the book, which proves the book’s importance and indicates its distinction and the attention Abu Hayyan gave it.  The objectives fixed by Abu Hayyan for presenting those sayings varied. Therefore, this research aims to identify those issues, comment on them, and show Abu Hayyan's position on them.
