Discourse of Poetic Messages of Asir District Poets from 1800 (1215) to 1871 (1288)

Abstract

This study aims to define poetic messages and their discourse among the poets of the Asir region in the period (1215 AH -1288H) in terms of their importance, objectives, reasons, and some of their technical aspects by answering a main question: How was the discourse of the poetic messages formed among the poets of the Asir region? The study reviewed a number of examples and studied their discourse and the verbal components of the sender, receiver, message and situation. The study benefited from the data of pragmatics and discourse analysis with what suits the nature of the poetic corpus that overlaps with other literary approaches such as the artistic and the historical approachesت The study concludes that the poetic message among the poets of Asir in the studied period clearly featured the elements of discourse with what the situation of speech requires in a solid language and a free metrical music. This was done in good literary images that approach the method of Arabic poetry in its eras of prosperity without falling into some elements of weakness that were widespread in the poetry of that period.
