Deviation from Agreement between Question qari”: A -Umdat alCayni’s Interpretive Explication in “C-Answer in Aland Pragmatic and Argumentative Approach

Abstract

This  paper  studies  Agreement  Deviation  between  Questions  and  Answers  in  Al-Cayni’s interpretive approach in his book: (CUmdat al-qari Sharh Sahih Al-Bukhari) of  Al-Bukhari’s Collection  of  the  Prophet  (PBUH)  Hadith.  The  paper  is  based  on  a hypothesis that most interlocution discourses have pairing of Questions and Answers  ،and since Answers saying who or what the action would be and related to Questions in  discourse  ،they  must agree  with  them  in  structure  and  semantics.  Accordingly ،deviation from  that  agreement  is  possible  only  for  communicative  and  informative purposes  the  interlocutor  expects  ،and  that  is  what  Al-Cayni  tried  to  clarify  in  his commentaries. The paper utilizes a pragmatic approach with all its techniques. It comes in  two  subsections:  the  first  deals  with  deviation  from  the  Maxim  of  Quantity  ،the Second on deviation from the Maxim of Relevance.
