Grammarians were interested in the expression of camels and their names based on gender (nāqah for a female camel, baʿīr, and jamal) in their constructed examples, presented within various grammatical contexts and documenting different social situations. Since examples serve as the practical application of grammatical theorization, naming the year 2024 as the ‘Year of the Camel’ highlights its significance in Arab culture and motivates further exploration in this area of research
The study analyzed and examined grammatical examples involving camels, distinguishing those that aligned with the rules from those that violated them. It clarified their impact in the art of Grammar, how effectively they served the purpose for which they were created, and how they helped grammarians in clarifying and simplifying rules, making them more accessible to the audience while also reflecting their social life. The examples thus became a unique dual-purpose tool: one side for representing grammatical rules, and the other side as a representation of society and the era in which they were crafted.
Linguists have frequently invoked the term ibil (camels) and its gender-specific names (nāqah for female, baʿīr and jamal for male) in their fabricated examples across various grammatical contexts, documenting different social situations through them. This research was motivated by the significance of examples in grammatical studies, as they represent the practical application of theoretical principles. Additionally, the frequent use of the term ibil in grammatical examples, along with the designation ofthe year 2024 as the "Year of the Camel," underscores its cultural value in Arab heritage .The study analyzes and examines fabricated grammatical examples involving ibil, evaluating those that align with grammatical rules as well as those that deviate from them. It explores their impact on linguistic craftsmanship and assesses how well they serve their intended purpose. Furthermore, the research highlights how these examples aided grammarians in clarifying, simplifying, and making grammatical rules moreaccessible to learners while simultaneously reflecting social life. As a result, these examples have become a unique dual-purpose tool: one aspect serves to illustrate grammatical principles, while the other captures the societal and historical context inwhich they were crafted.Among the key findings of this study is the grammarians’ keen interest in incorporating the term ibil into numerous grammatical discussions, linking grammatical theorization with social life through well-crafted examples. Thiseffective employment of real-life contexts within grammatical studies has produced vivid, dynamic illustrations for learners, making the examples more expressive and engaging rather than dry and abstract. Additionally, the research demonstrates the enduring relevance of ibil-related examples in modern society, showing that they remain familiar and applicable without the need for modification.
