Abstract

The current research aims at tracing the patterns common to the infinitive and the plural in the Holy Quran, which are possible in the same context, with the consequences likely to occur in each of the two possibilities of the influence on word inflection. The Research shows that the most commonly used patterns are (Fu`oul) then (Fe`aal) and the least commonly used are (Fi`al), (Fu`al), (Fa`la), and (Fa`il). There are patterns common to both the infinitive and the plural but they do not occur in the Holy Quran.
