Sentence Structure in Written Administrative Discourse Correspondence as an Example An Analytical Rhetorical Study
Abstract
This research is concerned with one of the most prominent types of non-literary discourse which is administrative discourse (correspondence as an example), by studying features of sentence structure in this type of writing, and the most prominent aspects of rhetoric that influence its structure.
The research is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the requirements of sentence structure in this discourse, as well as semantic accuracy and clarity. The second is about semantic influences of sentence structure elements; including nominal clause, verbal clause, proposing, ellipsis, definite articles (the, and relative pronouns) and adjectives. The third part of the research studies ready-made sentences, addressing their importance, types and sensitivity.
The researcher hopes that this study will contribute to enrich the linguistic and rhetorical aspects of administrative discourse that would open horizons for learners.
