Abstract

This study is concerned with the concepts: 'dialogue', 'theory of dialogue', and 'the dialogue critique', in addition to the methodology of 'maqarabat', its motives, its vision and the conclusions it has reached. It explores the elements of the dialogue theory and its phenomena, in studies conducted by Mu'jib Al-Zahrani in narrative texts, published in his book 'muqarabat hiwarriya'. The study focuses on the dialogue methodology that he has followed in the study of the cultural texts that investigate the phenomena from more than a perspective. The study has found out that Al-Zahrani has interested in the availability of the dialogue theory elements in the texts he investigates in terms of difference, dialogue, the intention of resolving the difference, and the joint interest. It has been found that Al-Zahrani was careful to study the controversial issues that can only be solved through dialogue. This necessitates the various voices in the texts he studies, that are based on the contrasting poles. The study has concluded that Al-Zahrani looks at literature as a cultural phenomenon, and his studies focused on one's awareness of himself and that of the other, in addition to identity, freedom, and justice that justify the interest in the phenomena of culture and awareness.  It has also shown that Al-Zahrani has started from the hypothesis that 'dialogue' has been his reference in investigating the awareness of certain people, and those people's awareness of the other.
