An Etymological Study of the Phrase "Unsettled in Arabic" Used by Ibn Asfour Al-Eshbily

Abstract

This researchwork presents a study of the phrase "unsettled in Arabic," which is usedextensively by Ibn Asfour Al-Eshbely (died in 669 H) in inflecting words in Arabic.

In the first chapter, samplesofpractical application of this phraseis presented and studiedin an earnest, scientific objectivity,alongside a special investigation.

The second chapterpresents the history of this phrase and the reasonthat motivatedIbn Asfourto use it. Moreover, it provides an assessment of the mannerin which Ibn Asfour used the phrase, and itsimpacton people who succeeded him.
