Abstract

This research work aims to shed light on the balance of form and content in the poetry of Walid Al-Azami, using an analytical-critical approach, which unearths the deep structure of the text, in order to answer questions about the purposeful discourse and its relationship to the aesthetic values; is it overshadowed by the mechanisms of being direct, declarative, and clear that distanced it from art and beauty? Are the values of content overshadowed by the formal constructions and artistic aspects? Did the poet manage to achieve a state of balance between excess and negligence? What are the effects of the poet's devotion to this strict discourse, which conveys a clear message to the recipient, on artistic and aesthetic values that would elevate the text, and deliver the message to the recipient in a context where the aesthetic layout appeals to him, and motivates him towards defending his values? Was the poet able, despite his raging battle in the face of adversaries, to remain faithful to the artistic and aesthetic values that affect the recipient's heart and mind?
