Abstract

This research provided a definition of pricing, lexically and technically, and gathered the Prophetic Hadiths on it. The research investigated the chain of narration and the authenticity of these Prophetic Hadiths, judged them according to the principles of the Prophetic Hadith science, and explained what they indicated in relation to judging pricing in light of Hadith Imams and reliable schools and scholars. The research also explained when some Prophetic Hadiths become specifically relevant to a particular case or issue, and thus they can only be used in such case. It also showed that saying that pricing is permissible does not contradict the Hadiths forbidding it, for this can be regarded as acting in accordance with the context of the Hadith, considering the causes mentioned in the religious texts, and using the Hadiths in the appropriate way. In particular, the Prophetic Sunnah made the standard price legal to one of the two parties in some deals. Thus, the research explained the truth about pricing and highlighted the Prophetic Hadith indicating that forbidding pricing is not always general.
