Takfiri Groups: Their Origination and Intellectual Roots A Critical Doctrine Study

Abstract

Takfiri groups have become a real threat to our society, because they strike the community in its essence and power by attracting the youth, leading them astray, luring them to laws of misconduct, and causing them to follow the road to the abyss of Takfir and misguidance. How did these groups arise? And what are the historical roots from which Takfiri groups emerged?  What are their most important intellectual origins? And what is the relationship between the Khawarij (non-conforming dissidents) of yesterday and the Khawarij today?

The current research aims to:

1) Discover the roots of Takfiri groups, their evolution, their origination, and their spread among the youth.

1. Explore the intellectual foundations adopted by these deviant groups, indicating their gross violations of the traditional Muslim way.
2. Warn against the dangers of these groups, and their negative effects on society in general, and on the youth in particular.

The research has reached a number of findings, the most important of which are: the danger of Takfiri groups, and the misguided thought they spread negatively influencing the individual, society, and the unity and security of the nation.
