The Quran Drawing in Interpretation of "The Spirit of Meanings" by Al-Imam Al-alousi

Abstract

The interpretation of the Imam Al-alousi is considered as one of the most comprehensive interpretations, which contains various forms of science. He is particularly concerned about the science of Quran Drawing, and this awareness appears in the form of description of the drawing phenomena, the direction some of them, and replying to the claim of mistake occurrence.

This research aims to detect the way of Al-alousi in the direction of drawing phenomena, demonstrate his perspective as well as illustrate the different aspects of this art according to the inductive, descriptive, and analytical approaches. This research presented in six sections: the history of the Quran in the Spirit of Meanings, issues related to the Quran drawing in the Spirit of Meanings, his position in mistake occurrence claim, his approach in directing the phenomena of Quran drawing and guiding the phenomena of drawing.

The most significant findings of the current research are Al-alousi's confirmation of the necessity to follow the Quran drawing, arguments against the view of mistake possibility, and his awareness in guidance several drawing phenomena and abandoning part of his view in regarding some phenomena. The research recommends the importance of stating the positions of the interpreters regarding drawing the Quran and studying their directions.
