Abstract

The researcher studied the confusion that may occur among some when looking at the tradition in which building houses is disparaged. It is something bad for its owner. These traditions say that what a Muslim spends on building a house and the like is not rewarded for it, rather it may be charged. These Traditions are matched by other traditions that indicate the legitimacy of the building because the Prophet (PBUH) built it. It confirms the legitimacy of the building. The researcher studied the Traditions on this topic and studied the apparent confusion in them critically.

Research Methodology: The researcher relied on the inductive critical analytical approach.

Results: This research reached many results. The most important of which are: there is only two authentic traditions in which building houses is disparaged, the first one is narrated by Khabbab, the second by Anas may Allah be pleased with them. And (7) weak Traditions could be treated and only one Tradition narrated by Ibn Masaud which is strongly weak could not be treated.

The studied Traditions disparaging building houses reached (10) Traditions, while the Traditions indicating the legitimacy of building reached (5) Traditions, of which one Tradition – the Tradition of Ibn Omar – and one other fair by itself – the Tradition of Saad – and third one fair by external considerations, (2) weak Traditions could be treated – Happa and Sawa’ Tradition, moaz Tradition – also the disparaging mentioned in the prophetic Traditions is have authenticated, but it is only when the building is in order to show off, not needed extent, that is what mentioned in Anas Tradition. Also, The research shows that the tradition which disparaged building, depriving the builder of the reward is only when the building is to show off, but when the building is as needed

It is rewardedSo, extending in the building is according to the need, which is different from one man to another. That means a kind of building in the case of one person may be considered extravagant, and in another case it is permissible. The best of guidance is the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH) in all matters, building is one of them. His build was only according to his needs, and the needs of his household, along with his goodness. So, he is far from being arrogant and proud.
