Abstract

In this study, I collected the sayings in which Abu Hayyan said that Qur’an must be purified from them.  That is to know these opinions described as that, and because of the frightfulness of this description, and do they deserve that or not?

And I compared and studied it, balancing it with the sayings of the exegetes and linguists, using the analytical method, and dividing it into an introduction, four sections, a conclusion, and a bibliography. Among the most important results of the research:

1-    The superiority of the exegetical approach used by Abu Hayyan, he is among the group of investigators who scrutinize opinions and meanings.

2-    Abu Hayyan is the only exegete that used the term- the Qur’an must be purified from this saying, and I did not find anyone who used this description among the exegetes.

3-    The total of the sayings described with such description is (twenty-three) in the verses.

4-    The sayings that Abu Hayyan said that Qur’an must be purified from them varies, between an exegetical meaning, a grammatical aspect, a syntactic opinion, a linguistic topic, or a Qur’anic issue such as issues of (Taqdeem and Ta`kheer and Al-Qalb) which relates to the rhetorical knowledge.

5-    This description may be right in some cases, but it does not include all of what Abu Hayyan described as such, perhaps; the saying may be strong and has it evidence, and some exegetes may support or oppose the saying of Abu Hayyan.

This description may be true upon few sayings, such as the exegesis of the Al-Batiniyyah. But as for all of the sayings. They contain what is strong, and what is weak, but it does not reach this description.
