Abstract

This paper presents a critical study of the biography of Ayman Ibn Umm Ayman, and the arguments between the scholars regarding his lineage, companionship, and the combination and separation (Al-Jam’a wa Tafriq) between him and Ayman al-Habashi. One of the most significant findings was that Ayman Ibn Umm Ayman, Al-Ansari, was from Bani Awf ibn Al-Ḥārith ibn Al-Khazraj, and he was one of the Prohet Arab slaves, and not an Abyssinian. And the differentiation between him and Ayman al-Habashi al-Tabi'i, the father of Abdul Wahed.
