What is Mentioned in the Books of Tafsir with the Maxim of the Works of the Companions adhering to Verses of the Holy Qur’an

Abstract

The present study aims to highlight the merit of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, what was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an of command, prohibition, or news that may have an order or prohibition citing the proven narrations contained in the books of interpretation. The study also included what was mentioned in all of the Qur’an, which is supported by the effects. The verses in which the narrations were mentioned amounted to (41) verses, of which (26) verses are concerned with commands, and (15) verses are concerned with prohibitions. As for the narrations supporting the work of the Companions with the mentioned verses, they amounted to (51) correct narrations. The researcher excluded weak narrations. The study is divided into two sections: The first section investigates the narrations contained in the work of the Companions according to the commands included the Qur’anic verses. The second section explores the narrations contained in the works of the Companions adhering to the prohibitions included in the Qur’anic verses. Findings of the study revealed that the Companions were quick to act according to the Qur’an, with its commands, prohibitions, rulings and teachings. Results also show that the Companions were not deterred by anything. The narrations that indicate the work of the Companions - may Allah be pleased with them - with the verses of the Qur’an varied, between worship, financial transactions, morals, etiquette, actions of hearts, supplication, dress, and family matters.
