This study deals with the topic: Hanbali debating jurists until the middle of the eighth century AH. It is an inductive study of those jurists، starting with Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal - may Allah have mercy on him - by illustrating the manifestations of his distinction in jurisprudential debate، and the factors that led to it such as the diversity of jurisprudence schools، and his association with jurists who were distinguished debaters، and the impact of his ordeal on the mastery of this aspect، passing through the debating Hanbali jurists of the third and fourth centuries AH. The study examined the reasons why the jurisprudential debate did not appear or prevail in that era، and what happened later in the mid-5th century AH، when the jurisprudential debate reached a summit that had never been reached before. Al-Qadi Abu Ali had a great influence on its evolution. He taught a large number of Hanbali debaters، who، in turn، conveyed the debate and its rules to a number of their students in the late 6th century and most of the 7th century until the mid-8th AH. Abu Ali had a great impact on the evolution and continuity of the jurisprudential debate.
