Abstract

This research revealed the keen interest of hadith scholars in the topic of supplications and remembrances, reflecting the emphasis placed on this area by Islamic law. Supplications and remembrances are included in various hadith compilations, and even dedicated independent works are devoted to them. Among these, the Book of Supplication by Al-Hafiz Abu'l Qasim Al-Tabrani stands out as one of the most comprehensive and extensive collections. Al-Tabrani meticulously organized his book, carefully arranging the hadiths and narrations under various categories, encompassing both sound and accepted hadiths, as well as weak and defective ones. His approach was guided by profound hadith and isnad principles. Furthermore, the book includes valuable and rare comments by Al-Tabrani on some narrations. These comments encompass a wealth of hadith-related knowledge on the sciences of 'Ilal al-Hadith' (defects in hadith) and 'Rijal al-Hadith' (narrators of hadith). Al-Tabrani's comments highlighted the different versions of narrations, transmitted with or without chains of narration, and identified the most reliable version. He also specified the hearing formula, unique wording, and identified the narrators who accurately transmitted the narration, as well as those who erred or confused it. He distinguished and identified the names of narrators. The research underscored the significance of Al-Tabrani's comments in evaluating the different versions of narrated hadiths, and revealed his exceptional mastery of the sciences of the Prophetic Sunnah, both in narration and understanding
