Significance of the topic
Achievement is the primary driving force that directs a person towards a specific goal. A person is driven by needs they wish to fulfill, duties they must commit to, and rights they desire to attain. The execution of these tasks is linked to the individual's motivation and the personal or acquired capabilities they possess to complete the task. However, certain obstacles may arise, hindering a person from achieving their goals, fulfilling their obligations, or quickly engaging in good deeds. These obstacles often stem from inner weaknesses, whether they are inherent or due to a lack of discipline and effort. The primary obstacles revolve around four qualities from which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sought refuge: incapacity, laziness, cowardice, and stinginess, as these significantly affect an individual's efficiency, excellence, efforts, and success in all their endeavors. Humans were created to fulfill what God commanded them to achieve.
This research concluded with several findings, including:
- Incapacity to achieve occurs when there is a lack of ability to fulfill a task due to physical or mental limitations, or due to a person's hesitation or laziness despite having the ability, fear of things unworthy of fear, or stinginess with anything beneficial.
- There should be harmony between the achievement and the motivation behind it, as no goal can be accomplished without a genuine driving force.
- The solution to these four traits lies in two approaches: willpower and discipline. Willpower involves taking action with strength, determination, and sincere desire, while discipline involves training oneself either to abandon unwanted traits or to perform tasks one aims to accomplish.
- The success of achievers is often the result of patience, persistence, and continuous motivation, which is reinforced by recalling successful examples when obstacles arise during various stages of achievement.
