Abstract:
This study aims to clarify the meaning of intention and usage, distinguish it from other terms, and examine certain issues in the principles of Usul al-Fiqh where the intention of different meanings and their simultaneous usage is realized according to legal theorists. It also seeks to demonstrate the appropriateness of intending different meanings in a single expression, the justifications for this, the associated regulations, and their impact on legal rulings through relevant examples.
Methodology
The study employs an inductive and analytical approach by surveying opinions and evidence related to the term intention and usage in various issues to arrive at a suitable analysis of how multiple meanings are intended and utilized in a single expression by legal theorists.
Findings
The study concludes that intending two or more different meanings from a single expression and using them together is sometimes possible. This has multiple forms in the issues of Usul al-Fiqh and is significant in understanding legal discourse, with consequent effects on legal rulings. This process is subject to specific conditions and well-defined regulations.
