Abstract:
The issue of linguistic variations is one of the prominent topics debated among scholars, with opposing views presented by different scholars. Ibn Abi Zamneen is one of the scholars who have been acclaimed for his interpretation, and this study highlights the extent of this acclaim and its impact on his interpretation. The study specifically examines the confirmed lexical terms used in his interpretation, which amount to 48 terms that differ from other terms whose meanings may appear similar but possess hidden distinctions.
The study found that Ibn Abi Zamneen, among the constellation of linguistic scholars mentioned, contributed significantly to linguistic variations. He mentioned numerous variations that were not found in well-known linguistic reference books available to us. Moreover, the linguistic variations he mentioned played a role in elucidating the meanings of verses. The study recommended further investigation into the influence of Ibn Qutaybah's work on the unfamiliar aspects of the Quran on Ibn Abi Zamneen's interpretation, as well as he advised researching the linguistic variations in the Qur'anic books of various reading versions.
