Abstract:
This study, titled "The Methodology of Abu Hafs al-Nasafi (d. 537 AH) in Interpreting the Qur'an by the Qur'an in His Book Taysir al-Tafsir: A Statistical and Analytical Study Based on Surah Al-Baqara", examines a recently edited and published work that is distinguished by its emphasis on interpreting the Qur'an through the Qur'an while also considering other exegetical approaches.
The study begins with a brief introduction to the author, followed by an overview of his book Taysir al-Tafsir. It then defines the concept of Tafsir al-Qur'an bil-Qur'an (interpretation of the Qur'an by the Qur'an). To complete the theoretical framework, the study explores the classification of this interpretative method in terms of proximity and remoteness, distinguishing between connected and separate interpretations.
On the practical side, the research presents statistical data on instances where al-Nasafi employed Qur'anic interpretation by the Qur'an, followed by an analysis of these statistics. The study then extracts and highlights key features of al-Nasafi’s methodology in interpreting Surah Al-Baqara, providing examples of various forms of this interpretative approach in his work.
The conclusion presents the most significant findings of the research, followed by a list of sources and references that were utilized in the study.
