Abstract:
This study examines the hadith of Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, in which he reports that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The best of you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." The research follows an inductive approach by tracing the various transmissions of the hadith, analyzing its defects, and addressing them. The study concludes that the hadith of Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, is authentic, and that the alleged defects do not affect the core authenticity of the hadith. The narration is confirmed through Sufyan al-Thawri and others, who transmitted it from Alqama bin Mirthad from Abu Abdurrahman al-Sulami from Uthman. The addition of Sa'd bin Ubaydah between Alqama and Abu Abdurrahman al-Sulami in Shu'bah's narration is wrong, as is the version transmitted by Yahya bin Sa'id from Shu'bah and Sufyan with the same addition. Furthermore, the research verifies the correctness of Abu Abdurrahman al-Sulami's hearing from Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him.
