Abstract:
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may the most complete peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad, sent as a mercy to all creation, and upon his family and Companions.
This study, entitled “Mujahid’s Report on Seating the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Throne: A Theological Study”, aims to highlight the Maqam Mahmud (the Praised Station) of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and to emphasize the importance of the pious predecessors’ understanding of scriptural texts. The research employs an inductive, descriptive-analytical, and comparative methodology.
The findings include: clarifying the meaning of the Maqam Mahmud; identifying the Prophet’s distinctive virtues and honors on the Day of Judgment; examining Mujahid’s report from both the perspectives of transmission (riwaya) and meaning (diraya); addressing objections raised against this report; affirming that the Maqam Mahmud encompasses both the Great Intercession and the seating of the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Throne; and demonstrating the acceptance of Mujahid’s report by the early generations of scholars (al-salaf al-salih).
