A Treatise on Reconciling the Ways of Reciting the Surahs among the Ten Reciters from the Surah of Al-Duha to the End of the Qur’an Via Al-Taibah
Abstract
This paper discusses a treatise on the science of reciting the Qur’an by Abu Al-Aza’im Sultan Ibn Ahmed Al-Mazahi (d. 1075 AH). He reconciled the different ways of reciting the two surahs by the ten reciters from the beginning of Surah (Al-Duha: 1) to (Al-Baqarah: 5) while explaining all the rulings of saying takbeer. This treatise is important because it is attributed to one of the most eminent Muslim scholars; and the rules and ways of reciting in this treatise are related to the methods of Taibah
The author depended on four different manuscripts in editing verifying this treatise. The paper consists of an introduction, two sections, a conclusion and bibliography.
