Abstract

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad,

The study of the biography of Al Qudamah women (Muhadithat) surely portrays bright pictures of seeking Alhadith Alnabawi and publishing it.This was manifested in the emergence of many women of this family who engaged in Alhadith. The study is limited to those who are descended from Abu Abbas Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Qudamah, as there are many. They used to learn from their fathers and grandfathers, from others, and they took their approval of narrating from them; then, their children narrated from them.

The inductive approach is applied in this study in tracking the names of Muhadithat and their efforts in the service of Hadith; and the descriptive approach is used in describing their instructional legacy through their biographies and the biography of their shaikhs,  and of those who attributed narration to them; and referring to their narrations in the chain of transmission to the Prophet, peace be upon him.

The study concludes with some findings, the most important of which are the knowledgeable status of the women of Al Qudamah, the number of Muhadithat who are descendants of Abu Abbas which totals fifteen, and the impact of the knowledgeable family on their breed.

The study concludes with the following recommendations: there must be further study of the learned families and their efforts, and further focus on highlighting the women efforts in the service of Hadith.
