Abstract

Belief in the Last day is a great pillar of the six pillars of Iman (Faith). The acceptance of this pillar includes the belief in what precedes it as the life of Barzakh (The Facsimile world) and the minor and major signs of the day of Judgment.

Islamic scholars had taken care to link faith to all these topics and their efforts in this matter were various and different in quantity and quality. One Islamic scholar who has contributed to this field is Alhafiz Jalaluddin Alsuyuti who has several compilations and writings including a poem of 165 verses allocated to the conditions of the world of Barzakh in relation to the deceased, the angels, and the soul. The poem has several characteristics, the most prominent of which, are: the accuracy if its topic, diversity of its issues and questions/enquiries, its many sources and resources, and the attribution of a number of its words and attestations/testimonials. For these reasons, many scholars were interested in studying this poem by explanation, supplementation, praise, and referral. Hence, this research is dedicated to the examination of this text and studying it as suitable.

The research begins with an introduction that explains the significance and purpose of the study, its difficulties, and the research plan. Following the introduction, the research is then divided into two parts:

The first part contains the study, in which I introduced the author and his poem. The author was introduced through his personal and scholarly life while the poem was described through its scholarly content and investigative features.

The second part includes the investigation and commentary in which I investigated the poem by adjusting/inspecting the text through the comparison of the different copies, studying it and then commenting on it.

Finally, the research was concluded by a summary of the most important results and recommendations.
