Abstract

Each biography includes what was told about the narrator in terms of discrediting and accrediting (Al-jar wa Al-tadīl) starting with the saying of Imam Al-Bukhari about him. He concludes each biography by studying the critics' sayings about him and what suits best for him from their sayings. The researcher compares what was told by Imam Al-Bukhari about the narrator described as (Not strong by them) to what was told about them by other critics in order to know where they stand among different representatives of the science of Hadith (Muhaddithūn).

However, this aims to evaluate the school of Al-Bukhari in the meaning of this expression whether it was targeting the very weak narrators or all kinds of weak ones including those which their Hadith are considered for not being too weak.

Eventually, the researcher reaches the conclusion that the expression (Not strong by them) is a description set by Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Ismail Al-Bukhari mostly for the very weak narrators. It is also possible to call the weak narrators which their Hadith are considered for not being too weak but may be he aimed to disprove them as there were some evidence of that.
