Publication Policy of the Journal of Islamic Legal Studies
- The journal accepts research papers throughout the year via the Scientific Journals Platform https://imamjournals.org/, except during the summer vacation period.
 - The journal publishes research in the field of Islamic legal studies.
 - Each submission undergoes an initial screening by a committee from the Editorial Board to ensure it meets the journal’s requirements and qualifies for peer review. The committee may approve the paper for review or reject it without providing justification.
 - Authors are notified within one week of submission whether their paper has been accepted for review or declined.
 - Approved papers are sent to two reviewers with relevant academic expertise. If both reviewers recommend publication, the paper is accepted. In case of disagreement, a third reviewer serves as the deciding arbiter.
 - Reviewers are required to provide written feedback based on specific criteria, including the clarity of research objectives, scholarly depth, originality and contribution to the field, consistency between title and content, adequacy of research material, and adherence to academic integrity.
 - All submissions are screened to ensure compliance with ethical and academic integrity standards.
 - Publication priority is determined by the date of acceptance; however, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make exceptions.
 - Authors of rejected papers may not resubmit the same work to the journal, even if revised.
 - Authors must certify that their submission is original, free of plagiarism, and has not been submitted to any other journal or publication.
 - The journal provides free and open access to all accepted papers upon publication, promoting knowledge dissemination and scholarly engagement.
 - The Editorial Board reserves the right to make stylistic or formatting adjustments to align papers with the journal’s publication standards.
 - Submitting the same paper to multiple publication outlets simultaneously is considered a violation of research ethics.
 - The peer-review process is strictly confidential; the identities of authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
 - Reviewers must decline review assignments if the submission falls outside their area of specialization or if they lack sufficient expertise in the topic.
 - The review process typically takes no longer than one month from the date of submission.
 - To pass peer review, each reviewer’s evaluation must meet a minimum score of 75%.
 - Reviewers must ensure that their comments address the research itself rather than the author, and that they include the study’s strengths, weaknesses, and detailed comments, in accordance with the journal’s official review form.
 - The Editorial Board retains records of the reasons for rejection for all declined submissions.
 - The opinions expressed in published articles are solely those of the authors and do not reflect the views of the university or the Editorial Board, both of which assume no legal responsibility for the content.
 - All publication rights are reserved to the journal for five years from the date of submission. The paper may not be republished, in print or electronically, during this period without written permission from the Editor-in-Chief.
 - The journal is published digitally via the Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Scholarly Journals Platform.
 - The journal is committed to respecting intellectual property rights and to preventing any form of infringement upon the ideas or works of others.
 - The Editorial Board reserves the right to remove a published paper, or part of it, if later found to contain issues that warrant such action.
