Abstract

The study aims at identifying the effect of using critical probing in developing the skills of solving the future problems of the research tools of the postgraduate students (MA) in Curriculum and Instruction at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. The researcher adopted the quasi-experimental method, using a two-group design; one experimental - 19 female students – control - 19 female students - from the second level, majoring in Curriculum and Instruction. The study tool included a test of the skills of solving the future problems of research tools in Curriculum and Instruction. The research found that the use of critical probing affected the progress of students in future problem solving skills in identify the challenges related to future problems, choosing the most important challenge, generating important ideas and solutions identified for the most important challenge, generating and selecting the criteria to be applied to proposed ideas and solutions, and applying these criteria to evaluate the proposed solutions.
