Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a training program based on educational units in the development of functional speech skills of the student teacher of the primary grades in Princess Nora Bint Abdurrahman University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used a quasi-experimental approach based on a single group design. The study utilized two tools, namely Note Card and achievement test. The study was applied to (30) student teachers from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The study concluded that there are statistically significant differences between mean scores of students performance research sample in the pre-stage and their performance in the post-stage in functional speech skills. The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of pre-test and post-test of students in their functional speech skills.
