The Role of Volunteering women Leaders in developing of Social Capital Values in Saudi Society

Abstract

The study aims to identify the values of social capital across the different roles for voluntary women leaders in Saudi society. The descriptive method is employed using a questionnaire consisting of 36 items covering all objectives of the study. The questionnaire was tested in terms of validity and reliability and was administered to a sample consisting of 128 volunteers of women leaders in 24 Social Development Centers in Riyadh. Findings showed that there were differences in the average for values of social capital. The value of (Participation and voluntary work) was the highest (2.55), followed by the value of (group work) (2.50). Then came the value of (Communication and Interaction of people) (2.48). Finally, the value of (Confidence) for voluntary women leaders was (2.31). The study recommended the need to develop the legislative framework for the centers of civil voluntary work to allow more flexibility so as to support the pace of participation in their activities in the framework of the development of social capital values for women leaders.
