The Diagnosis Efficacy of Family Apperception Test "FAT" in Detecting of The Family Systems for Normal and Behavioral Disorders' Children and Adolescence: A Cross Cultural Study.

Abstract

The current research aimed to study the psychometric characters for Family Apperception Test "FAT" and its Efficacy in detecting family systems and dynamic interaction in families, and compare between normal and behavioral disorder’s children and adolescence in family systems, and study the effect of cultural factor on sample study family systems. The current search was also aimed to compare between FAT and Family Draw Test in detecting family dynamics. The study sample consisted of (312) KSA & Egyptian children and adolescence, it was used FAT, behavioral disorders inventory, family draw test, demographic and social sheet. It was found that; The FAT had a good psychometric indicators, and the FAT had efficacy for detecting family systems and dynamics for study sample, there was no effect for cultural factor on study sample responses on the FAT, there was completely agreement between FAT and family draw test on study sample responses.
