The Effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral program in reducing depression of second type diabetes patients in Al-quwieya governorate

The present paper aimed at using a cognitive behavioral therapy program in reducing the depression experienced through the second type of diabetes patients in Al-Quwieya governorate. The sample consisted of 30 participants. 15 patients were in the experimental group , and the other 15 were in the control group. Rudolf's depression scale was adopted to collect data. Results indicated that depression is highly frequent in the sample. Significant differences were found between control and experimental groups favoring treatment group. The improvement continued after the follow-up measurement 4 weeks after the end of the program. The results indicated the effectiveness of the proposed program, and the study recommended that specialists in psychology should recruit in diabetes care centers because physical diseases accompanied with psychological ones.
